With my photography, I explore philosophical themes that contribute to my process of individual and spiritual growth in life. Themes like stillness, acceptance or gratitude can always be found in my work. With the practice of photography I enter into a meditative state.

Leaving behind all the ideas of how the world should look like, I create subjective photographs, capturing beauty and wonders of the moment. I utilise atmospheric conditions, multiple exposures, digital manipulation, diverse materials and different techniques to emphasise tactility in my prints. I create images in which time and space are irrelevant. There is only one moment, and that is the moment of ‘being’.

Dialogue with Silence

There have been several moments in my life when the universe has surprised and touched me with the extraordinary beauty of its magical appearance. A slowing down of time and a deep sense of genuine connection with the whole world leaves me with an unexpected, but certainly an indelible memory. These moments are increasingly rare as the rhythm of everyday life takes over. I relive these moments through being aware of life in the here and now.

Dialogue with Silence is an ongoing project. With silence and objectivity in mind and leaving behind the preconceived concepts of how the world should look like, I photograph the beauty and wonder of the moment. With my images, I want to invite everyone to search for the moment of ‘being’ and experience the power of the Dialogue with Silence.

My series Sakura should be seen as a chapter in the project Dialogue with Silence. The beauty, as you see it now will never be the same. Things will pass, they will end, and there will be constant movement in life. The only thing you can do is accept this movement because when life goes on, new moments will come in place and surprise you with another beauty.
