International Meeting Place 2022 Portfolio Review for Artists

Registration opens this fall for the International Meeting Place 2022 Portfolio Review for Artists, taking place from September 25–October 8, 2022 during the FotoFest 2022 Biennial (September 24–November 6, 2022) in Houston, Texas.

The International Meeting Place Portfolio Review for Artists is the largest, longest-running, and most international program of its kind in the United States. Throughout its history, beginning with the first iteration in 1986, the Meeting Place has brought together thousands of photographic artists and photography professionals from around the world to one common location. The multi-day event is truly a “meeting place,” a unique, photography-centered environment where participants have the opportunity to network, collaborate, share ideas, and establish life-long connections.

The flagship Meeting Place is held every two years in Houston, Texas as an integral part of the FotoFest Biennial of Photographic and New Media Art. Spread over three distinct sessions of four days each, 150 specially-invited portfolio reviewers (who include internationally renowned curators, editors, publishers, gallerists, collectors, and photo agencies) and more than 400 photographic artists travel to Houston from over 30 countries across six continents. In addition to the Houston-based review, FotoFest Meeting Place Portfolio Reviews have convened across the globe in Paris, Beijing, Moscow, and most recently, online.

Photographers who participate in the Meeting Place enjoy an immersive photography-centered experience of formal portfolio reviews, access to Creative Conversations, FotoFest’s series of critical discussions between photographers and leading photography thinkers, bus tours to museums and galleries around Houston, invitations to opening receptions of FotoFest Biennial exhibitions, discounted rates to professional development workshops, and near round-the-clock opportunities for networking.
