The international urban photography festival Trieste Photo Days is back for its eighth edition and will be held in a circuit of venues in Trieste, seaside city in North-Eastern Italy, starting from August, with a series of preview events taking place outside the city (Photo Days Tour) with exhibitions in Parenzo (Croatia), Rome, San Daniele del Friuli, Cormòns, Sacile and at the Trieste Airport.
The peak of the Festival will be from 28th October to 1st November 2021 with a weekend full of exhibitions, meetings and workshops.
Here are some previews of the Festival programme, which will be officially presented to the public on Thursday 28 October 2021 at the Auditorium of the Revoltella Museum, in the presence of the authorities.
Among the guests at the event there will be internationally renowned authors such as Paolo Pellegrin, Francesco Cito and, in live streaming Bruce Gilden, a living icon of street photography and president of the URBAN Photo Awards 2021 jury. Gilden will have the task of selecting the overall winner of URBAN Photo Awards 2021 during the award ceremony scheduled for Saturday 30th October 2021 at the Revoltella Museum Auditorium.
We have many exhibitions scheduled, starting with the URBAN Photo Awards 2021 exhibitions: at the Biblioteca statale Stelio Crise, in Sala Xenia (the main venue of the Festival) and at the Civico Museo Sartorio with the prize-exhibition of the four URBAN projects selected by Laura Carlini Fanfogna, Director of the Museums and Libraries Service of the Municipality of Trieste, and Claudia Colecchia, Head of the Photo Library of the Civic Museums of History and Art of the Municipality of Trieste and set up with the collaboration of the museum curator Lorenza Resciniti.
The Stelio Crise State Library will also host the big exhibition Tales of the Unwritten, with the book presentation, dedicated to the great international street photography collectives and the authors involved in the project.
