The globally renowned World Press Photo Exhibition returns to London on Friday 21st August, engaging audiences at the new MPB Gallery a few minutes away from London Bridge Station on Bermondsey Street, SE1 3UD.The exhibition is the world’s most prestigious showcase of photojournalism and documentary photography and is the widest-ranging annual photo exhibition worldwide.

The World Press Photo Contest recognises and celebrates the best visual journalism produced over the past year, with the winning images forming a powerful global touring exhibition. In 2025, the exhibition reached over 4 million visitors across more than 80 cities. Kira Pollack, World Press Photo 2026 Contest global jury chair, said: "At a time when truth feels increasingly fragile and contested, visual journalism stands as one of our most powerful tools for bearing witness and creating understanding. Photography has a unique ability to transcend language and borders, shift perspectives, and move policymakers and the public alike toward action. The work of photojournalists around the world - often done at great personal risk - has never been more vital to our collective understanding of reality."Since its founding in 1955, the World Press Photo Foundation has championed independent photojournalism, ensuring that the stories shaping our world are seen and understood through powerful imagery across the globe.

London Exhibition Director Woody Anderson said: "It’s an honour to bring the World Press Photo Exhibition back to the UK once again. Seeing it grow with every year, highlights just how important these stories are in the times we’re living in. The most powerful moment is watching someone experience the exhibition for the first time, the emotional they feel, and seeing them return year-on-year. It shows the lasting power of these images and the emotional connection they create."For the third consecutive year, MPB is proud to be a key supporter of the World Press Photo Exhibition in the UK. Sophie Collins, CMO of MPB, said: "At MPB, we believe photography has the power to inform, inspire and connect people across the world. Supporting the World Press Photo Exhibition reflects our commitment to championing visual storytelling and making photography more accessible to everyone.

By supporting the exhibition, we’re able to celebrate the work of the world’s most talented photographers and highlight the vital role photojournalism plays in helping us understand the world around us."Bringing together the most powerful images from the past year, the World Press Photo Exhibition 2026 offers visitors a rare opportunity to engage with the stories shaping our world and the photographers who risk everything to tell them.

The exhibition opens to the public on Friday 21st August 2026 at the MPB Gallery, 42–44 Bermondsey Street, London, SE1 3UD.
