Far From Home is an experimental project based on large format film. I photographed many landscapes in my place of residence at that time, which is more than 10,000 miles away from my homeland.

I used products from my homeland to destroy the film, such as vinegar, soy sauce, soap, incense, etc., in order to express my nostalgia for my homeland.

About

Siyi Tang's work focuses on feminism, self-exploration of identity, and the clash and intersection of Asian cultures in Western society. Her work is mainly based on photography. She was born in China and received her MFA in photography from Savannah College of Art and Design. In her work, she powerfully demonstrates her power as a new generation of Asian women, impacting the viewers' stereotypical perceptions of women, especially Asian women. In her work, she also investigates her loneliness, longing, and contradictions as an Asian woman in a foreign land. Her works have been exhibited in several cities and countries.
