Through my photographs, I attempt to engage the spectator in extracting the hidden beauty found in natural and manmade environments.
I think the best way to describe my approach to photography is to share my favourite quote by Rene Magritte: “Too often we tend to reduce what is strange to what is familiar. I intend to restore the familiar to the strange”. It profoundly influenced my vision.

Objects, their representation and how they are perceived became a source of inquiry and inspiration. While creating an arrangement, I spent a great deal of time trying to see things in a less obvious way. I use the time carefully, taking all the variables and elements into consideration. This is an essential part of my photography process.
I’m creating a new meaning by taking cues from fine art, abstract forms, texture, light and shadows. A vision can come from a sight, a memory, or a feeling. Sometimes the beauty around us goes unnoticed because it’s not obvious. Through my photographs, I attempt to engage the spectator in extracting the hidden beauty found in natural and manmade environments.
About
Marina Tsaregorodtseva is a Still life Photographer who currently lives and works in London, United Kingdom. She was born in Russia in 1978. Her way to photography was nonlinear. She completed a degree in accounting and finance in 2000. Relocated to the UK in 2009 through the work transfer. Moving to another country had a huge impact on her life: loneliness, inability to share experiences and impressions with close family kind of forced her to restrain personal feelings. This is how she came to photography a few years ago. Largely self-taught she started taking photos for pleasure but it soon became much more than a hobby. Nowadays her works were shown in international group exhibitions and shortlisted for Sony World Photography Awards 2022.
