In Artdoc Photo Magazine Issue #2 2020, we bring a mix of photography about our complex relationship with nature. Wendi Schneider and Ali Shokri bring a homage to the trees. Eva Besnyö (1910–2003) is one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century. Born in Hungary, she left for Berlin in 1930. There, she developed her own visual language, in which modernist aesthetics combine with a profound social awareness. The rise of fascism in Germany forced her to move to the Netherlands in 1932. Her work is characterized by an exceptional sense of rhythm, light, and composition, seamlessly shifting between street photography, portraiture, documentary photography, and architecture.
