Artdoc introduces the contemporary meaning of aesthetics: the expression of our inner life, struggles and emotions. Artdoc #5 2025 showcases four significant portfolios connected to Expressive Aesthetics: as the reflection of subjective worlds. Frank Kunert depicts the divide between our aspirations for a luxurious, comfortable existence and the often harsh, sometimes morbid reality. Jingyi Zhang provides a meditative response to the chaos of contemporary life. She creates images that remove distraction, exposing the quiet wisdom of nature beyond human interference. Clair Robins transforms a year-long collaboration with her teenage daughter into an intimate study of love, distance, and the evolving bonds of family. Nataliia Hresko creates carefully arranged still life photographs that reflect her personal perspective on the war in Ukraine. Artdoc #5 2025 features the talents of Oksana Omelchuk, Olena Zubach, Justin Key, and Maureen Bond. In the exhibition The Expressive Eye, Artdoc showcases the work of creative photographers who demonstrate that photography is a way of shaping how we see, feel, and reflect on the world.
In Issue #4 2025 of Artdoc Magazine, Global Connection, we explore photography as a bridge across borders, cultures, and lived experiences. The stories gathered here invite us to witness both beauty and struggle: images of migrating families, intimacy and loss, communities reclaiming identity, and the challenges of climate change. These photographs do more than document — they connect us, urging reflection on the threads that bind humanity in a fractured world. Through art and critical storytelling, Global Connection offers perspectives on urgent social issues alongside glimpses of resilience, dignity, and shared hope. Photography here is not only a witness but a thread — weaving together our shared humanity and reminding us that every story of struggle or hope belongs to the same fabric of connection.‍Featured: Nick Brandt, Nicola Lo Calzo, Oscar Villeda, Natalie Karpushenko, Carolina Ludwig Agudelo, Galina Semenova, Madina Baymirzaeva, Pavlo Fyshar, Andrew Califf, Marta Stoyanova, Xenia Chetrar, Madalena Georgatou, and Tracy Longley-Cook‍
In Artdoc Issue #3, 2025, We Are Humanity, we showcase the visual translation of the contemporary state of human life on Earth in these uncertain times. We inhabit an era of remarkable technological achievement, yet beneath the surface, the world aches. Inequality widens as some flourish while others struggle to survive. Wars displace millions, and social tensions challenge countless lives. Humanity treads a fragile path, but ultimately, we can deeply feel that we all share the same roots of human existence: we are humanity. We bring portfolios of Adam Docker, Cristian Barnett and Sakir Khader. We feature Andrej Verzola, Anemona Knut, Ingrid Koedood, and Tomislav Marcijuš. In Inspiration, we present more human stories, and we show highlights of the exhibition Echoes of Being.
In Artdoc Issue #2, 2025, The Meditative Lens, we present artistic photographs that emerge from a deeper resonance with natural surroundings. At a time when we are overwhelmed by fast images and the world is moving at a relentless speed, while anxiety and fear impact us deeply, serene images of tranquillity, created with mindful attention, invite us to regain our much-needed peace of mind. In this issue, we have selected strong and captivating images from the overwhelming number of fantastic submissions received from engaging photographers worldwide. They all practise mindful photography, the act of creating images shaped by awareness. This practice invites the viewer to pause and contemplate life today in all its forms and manifestations, much like Zen meditation. Featured Artists: Aya Okawa, Eckart Bartnik, Viet Ha Tran, Wlad Gustynowicz, Alejandra Nowiczewski, Justin Pumfrey, Kostis Argyriadis, Luca Ortis, Samuele Quaranta, Ulrike Pichl, Geralda Odinot, Sonja Priller, and John Riddy.
