The Space Between

Issue nr. 4 2026

Artdoc Magazine Issue 4 2026 — The Space Between explores the relationship between people and their surroundings. The photoworks examine how we shape the places around us and how our surroundings, in turn, shape us. Architecture, streets and landscapes can be read as a visual language.

Through cityscapes, rural landscapes, domestic spaces, architecture and the built environment, the photographs reveal how the places we inhabit influence our experience.

Empty streets, housing blocks, industrial zones, shopping centres and neglected structures become portraits of culture through the traces we leave behind. The ordinary can acquire an unexpected beauty while revealing alienation, inequality, transience and desolation.

Together, the works invite us to look more closely at the spaces we live in, move through and observe. Our surroundings may tell us more about ourselves — and the unsettled time in which we live — than we realise.

Issue 4 2026 features work by Ben Geier, Chris Dorley-Brown, Kaytlin Schmidt, Marcus Jendretzke, Franck Lebegue, Guillaume Gorini, Jadwiga Janowska, Wangkai Wei, Jan Banning, Julie V. Garner, Laidric Stevenson and Tal Danan.
